Tron illustrate the dangers facing children using the Internet with a story quoted from the Sunday Times 'Style' section of March 22nd 1998, titled 'Murder She E-Mailed'. A 12-year-old schoolgirl in the USA secretly made a friend on the Internet and agreed to meet him in a coffee bar. Her mother found out and called the police who discovered the 'friend' to be a man wanted for homicide. The girl had ignored warnings never to put her address, her age or any other personal details online, and certainly never to meet any stranger.
